Medical register
A doctor can be an independent medical services practitioner if he /she is recorded in the medical register and if he/she complies with other terms, provided by law. For the entry in the medical register, it is required to be a national of the Republic of Slovenia, or, if a foreign national, to comply with the terms, provided by law and by Rules on the Register of Physicians.
Entry in the register is made upon the request of a doctor, complying with the terms provided by the General Practitioners Services Act and the Rules on the Register of Physicians. The Chamber issues a decision for any register entry or removal within administrative procedures.
A complaint about the register entry or removal can be lodged within 15 days of receipt of a written copy of the decision. The complaint, lodged with the Chamber, shall be adjudicated by the Ministry of Health.
- To enter the register a doctor / dentist must submit a completed application to the Chamber. The doctor must attach the required documentation to prove his eligibility to enter the register,
- to be removed from the register a doctor / dentist must lodge a request for removal with explanation.
Registration of an honorary member is executed on the basis of the decision to appoint the doctor.
